About this event

The Dubbo Writers’ Festival is celebrating its 10th year of bringing writing and publishing industry professionals to Dubbo. At our festival, designed by writers for writers, we celebrate and build the creativity and skills of published and emerging regional poets, fiction and non-fiction writers, connecting writers with other writers, publishers and commissioning editors.

We kick off on at the Dubbo Regional Library on Friday the 13th with a free author showcase and in-conversation with our keynote presenter, author Kim Kelly.

Saturday we are in the meeting rooms of the WPCC where we plunge into writing workshops ($50/workshop) run by Kim followed by our DWF 300 word Festival Cup competition and award at Club Dubbo.

Sunday is full of meet the publisher opportunities to help regional authors bring their work to submission readiness. For $50 each, spend 30 minutes with a representative for one or all of the following publishers: Pantera Press, Ventura Press and Christmas Press.

Surviving Submission Spur in the afternoon is an opportunity to listen to publishers discuss the first pages of submitted manuscripts.

Lunch, morning and afternoon tea will be free!
