Royal Flying Doctor Service Visitor Experience - Your little explorers will love the hands on and immersive experience on offer at the RFDS Visitor Experience. There are interactive displays, augmented reality features, and state of the art equipment that allow the whole family a front row seat into the incredible work of the beloved Aussie Flying Doctor.

Look on in Augmented Reality (AR) as the Flying Doctors treat a patient in an aircraft cabin. Walk through the split fuselage and try out the captain's chair. SYou can also see the day-to-day action unfolding on giant control screens, following the locations of the planes. For more hands on fun you can also step into an interactive health station and explore a treatment room with Augmented Reality (AR).

Dubbo Regional Adventure Playground - If your kids are full of beans and need to run off some steam then head for the Dubbo Regional Adventure Playground - Dubbo's most exciting play space! The expansive playground has around 40 play elements to explore, including a thrilling flying fox, giant stone slide and a high flying basket swing. There are also BBQs, toilets and accessible elements including a wheelchair friendly Liberty Swing, plus a senior’s fitness area making this the ultimate playground for all ages and abilities.

The Adventure Playground is located just a short walk from Dubbo's largest shopping centre Orana Mall where you can explore 70 big brand and specialty shops, and enjoy a recharging lunch in one of the cafes or eateries after running wild in the playground.

Western Plains Cultural Centre - Take the family to the heart of art and culture in Dubbo to wander surprising exhibitions and get up close to a piece of local history in the extensive museum collection. The kids will especially love experiencing a school environment of days gone by in the replica 1950s classroom complete with chalkboard, wooden desks, uniforms and other genuine artefacts.

The Gallery has an ever changing calendar of exhibitions, make sure to check out the website before your visit to see what might spark interest in your junior creators. The Museum collection is always available and tells many stories of Dubbo's past, giving a taste of our Region's unique history.

Wellington Caves Fossil Discovery Lab - Budding scientists (and dinosaur enthusiasts) will be amazed by the hands on Discovery Lab experience. You will feel like you have stepped into a scientific lab to examine real fossils from one million years ago. While you dig, dust and discover the kids will learn about Australian Megafauna through a lens and get a magnified insight just like a palaeontologist.

The Wellington Caves Discovery Lab has all of the tools of the trade for fossil finding, and while you are at the complex don't miss out on a visit to the free Ancient Landscapes Gallery for a peek into the past spanning 400 million years. The Gallery explores ancient seas, displays life-sized Australian Megafauna, and features traditional Wellington Wiradjuri stories. You can even check out what scientists are still studying on site in the caves today.

Dubbo Skate Park - This park is a trickster's dream, featuring Australia's first full pipe! Catering to a variety of skill levels, with some challenging elements as well as a smaller section for younger kids still learning the ropes. You will also find outdoor basketball courts just next door and the Dubbo Aquatic Leisure Centre is only a short walk away - perfect for a post skate cooldown!
