1. Choice of venues

The Dubbo Showground is located in the heart of Dubbo, is fully fenced and within walking distance to scores of motels. Lazy River Estate is located on the edge of the City and has successfully hosted several large-scale concerts and community festivals.

Under construction is a $3.4M outdoor events centre nestled between the Macquarie River and Dubbo’s CBD. The space which includes an all-weather stage is due for completion in May 2021.

Dubbo’s picturesque Victoria Park sets the scene for community festivals promoting our culturally diverse community.

3. 10,000 beds within 2 hour radius

The Dubbo Region has a proven record of success when supporting large influxes of people. With over 5,000 beds on offer across the region, and access to a further 5,000 within a two hour radius, the Dubbo Region has the capacity to support large music festivals.

There is an abundance of group accommodation providing a wide range of options including self-contained units, family rooms, cabins as well as powered and unpowered sites for those ready to bunk down with friends for the night.

4. Centrally located and easily accessed

Dubbo is located in the heart of New South Wales and is easily accessed by road, rail and air. The Mitchell, Golden and Newell highways converge in Dubbo and connect the region to each point of the compass.

Festival-goers can leave the car at home and travel by rail via NSW TrainLink’s XPT daily service out of Sydney.

Headliners, musicians and staff can fly direct to and from Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane and Melbourne. The Dubbo City Regional Airport is a 5 minute drive to Dubbo’s CBD and is serviced by a large taxi fleet, including wheelchair accessible vehicles. There is also a choice of four hire car companies to assist with transfer needs.

5. Burgeoning target demographic

The Dubbo Region boasts a resident population of 52,000 and a catchment population in excess of 200,000 people. There are more than 180,000 people aged 20-49 years within a 4 hour radius.

Dubbo is also home to a campus of Charles Sturt University and attracts a strong cohort of young people undertaking tertiary education at the Dubbo TAFE.

The events calendar in Dubbo will have every opportunity to expand with the opening of the state-of-the-art outdoor events arena with dedicated stage area at Ollie Robbins Oval in Dubbo’s CBD. The stage will enable the attraction of major year-round events and festivals. When not in use for major events, the foreshore precinct will provide ample space for locals and visitors to relax and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere near the river and expansive green spaces.
