Embark on a journey into Australia’s past through the Gilgandra Rural Museum’s collection of inventions and memorabilia. Or relax and re-invigorate with an easy stroll down Windmill Walk along the banks of the Castlereagh River.

Discover the unique village of Tooraweenah and explore Tourist Route 1 en-route to the Warrumbungle National Park

This tranquil rural village is the southern gateway to Warrumbungle National Park. With most of its early 20th century buildings preserved and all of its country charm, Tooraweenah is the perfect place to relax before you continue on to the National Park.

Don’t miss a stop along Tourist Route 1 at Emu Logic Farm to meet the big birds up close and hear their incredible drumming call. You can even pick up a unique emu product from the on-site shop. Be sure to book ahead to avoid availability.
