About this event

Get the kids on bikes these holidays!

Remember the fun or riding a bike as a kid? BMXs, sissy bars, the card on the spokes, wheelies, and doing skids in the gravel! For a lot of people these experiences have grown into a lifelong passion for cycling and they are benefiting from the associated benefits for health and well being.

To help address the declining participation rates of kids cycling the Dubbo Cycle Club is holding a Learn to Ride and develop safe riding skills holiday camp in July.

This event will give young kids ages 5 and up skills to develop safe riding including bike checks and sizing, bike safety, traffic rules, riding with care and riding with others and bike manoeuvring. This is aimed at giving kids the confidence to ride a bike. It is also hope that it will give parents some peace of mind to let they can do so safely. The camp will be held at the Dubbo Regional Cycle Facility which provides a safe and friendly place for everyone to ride bikes.

Sessions will be run by accredited coaches including Coaches for the NSW Junior Cycling Team Tom Dawson and Graeme Northey. Together who have a lifelong passion and experience in the development of young riders.

Sponsored by Charles Sturt University’s Community University Partnerships program.
