MATT WRIGHT I wouldn’t want to live any place other than Dubbo. It’s a wonderful city to live, work and raise a family. I grew up in the town of Forbes and have worked in a number of other regional towns for more than 10 years. I found the Dubbo Region to be the perfect place to start and expand my own business. I’ve always embraced the opportunities that have come my way and it is fantastic to be a part of such a dynamic and thriving business community. With extensive strong transport links to several major east coast capital cities, as well as NBN connectivity, there is no reason why a business in a capital city can’t operate just as well in the CBD of Dubbo. There’s an overall positive vibe in and around the region and there’s so much on offer for the communities surrounding Dubbo – many of which see the city as their main service centre. Within the region, there’s also a lot of new construction and land development occurring and with an entry price so much lower than larger city markets, we found it so much more affordable to enter the market and own our own home. I’ve met people who have relocated to Dubbo from all parts of Australia and overseas. Dubbo is a unique region where you can meet people from many backgrounds and walks of life, and as the population grows opportunities will continue to open up for the community.

My family of five has really found our home here in Dubbo. We are able to get amongst the booming sporting community and we are keen supporters, participants and volunteers for several local clubs. How we keep healthy The Dubbo Region is a hub for health and medical services, where major public, private and allied health services are conveniently located and accessible.
HEALTH SERVICES AT YOUR FINGERTIPS The Dubbo Region is the envy of regional New South Wales offering a broad range of medical and allied health services and facilities. The Dubbo Hospital serves as a base for the Orana Region (an area greater than one-third the size of New South Wales) and offers emergency and acute medical, surgical, obstetric and paediatric care. The Hospital is currently undertaking a $150 million redevelopment which will result in a new emergency department, a new renal dialysis unit, a new critical care floor and the expansion of the oncology unit. KALEY BULLOCK My husband grew up on a property near Neurea a little outside of Wellington and I grew up just down the road at Parkes. We met at Charles Sturt University in Dubbo when we were both studying to be teachers. During my final year of study I decided to pursue a teaching job in Wellington and I have loved being part of the school community at Wellington Public School for the past 10 years. I always knew the country life was for me and after my first few years living in Wellington I knew it would be the perfect place to raise a family. We have always enjoyed plenty of support from the community and there is always someone ready to lend a helping hand when you need it. I am excited by the positive energy and vibe you feel around Wellington. With the expansion of the Wellington Correctional Centre, the beautification of the CBD and upgrade of facilities at the Wellington Caves the town is abuzz and upbeat for the future. It was a real thrill to see Wellington featured recently on Channel 9’s Today Show! Balancing work and family life is easy in Wellington, it takes me only five minutes to get to work each day, five minutes to head to the shops and we love being able to participate in a variety of sports groups. My husband is a loyal supporter of the Wellington Golf Club and is heavily involved in the local Rugby Union football clubs, my two eldest boys are excited to be old enough to join the junior soccer teams and Little Athletics this coming year. We are so lucky to have some of the country’s natural beauties right on our doorstep and we love exploring our home town. Joining in the Mount Arthur Challenge, a day

Our council Our Council is passionate about serving our community and creating a great place for all residents to live. We strive to be open, honest and approachable for anyone seeking support or assistance.
Dubbo Regional Council is committed to making our community a great place to live, work and play. Council is dedicated to providing first-rate support to the wider community via economic, environmental and social services. 1. How are my rates calculated? Council determines the combination of rates, charges, fees and pricing policies needed to fund the services it provides to the community. This is called a revenue policy. The revenue policy contains a rating structure that determines which rates and charges you have to pay and how they will be calculated. You can view the Revenue Policy on Council’s website. 2. When are Council meetings? Council generally meets on a monthly cycle on Mondays (except January). Extraordinary meetings are called when needed. Council meetings start at 5.30pm in the Civic Administration Building, Church Street, Dubbo; or Corner of Nanima Crescent and Warne Street, Wellington. Meetings are held on an alternate basis and live streamed at webcast.dubbo.nsw.gov.au. 3. Where do I take stray animals? The Dubbo City Animal Shelter is located on Boothenba Road and can be contacted on 6882 1934. The Shelter is a safe haven for lost and stray cats and dogs, keeping them protected until their owner (or a new owner) can be found. Fees apply for the release of impounded animals. Suitable unclaimed animals are re-homed through sales at the shelter. The Wellington Pound is also available to provide refuge to lost or stray animals. The Pound is not manned on a continuous basis. If access is required please call the Ranger on 6801 4000 8:30am – 5:00pm Monday to Saturday. 4. What do I do if I think there is a leak on my property? Take a reading after the last person has gone to the toilet or brushed their teeth at night. Take a second reading before anyone uses any water in the morning. If

Located a convenient drive from Dubbo, the village of Brocklehurst gives you the best of village living right on the doorstep of a major regional centre. Surrounded by prosperous farming land and close to the Mogriguy National Park, Brocklehurst is the ideal tree change destination.
The village of Mumbil enjoys an enviable location as the closest centre to the shores of the region’s water sports playground – Lake Burrendong. The name ‘Mumbil’ comes from the Aboriginal word for black wattle which was once abundant in the area. This has inspired the name of Mumbil’s major event, The Black Wattle Fair held each year.
ELONG ELONG Locals affectionately joke that the village of Elong Elong is simply so good that it was named twice! The surrounding area is rich in a wide variety of farming enterprises including organics, seeds, various studs and even pistachio nuts.
EUCHAREENA Euchareena is a village where history and community run deep. Though small in size, Euchareena has its own unique claims to fame like in 1926 when a crop of ‘Boomey Variety’ wheat from Euchareena won the World Wide Wheat Championship in Regina, Canada. Surrounded by spectacular Australian landscapes, Euchareena offers its residents a beautiful country escape.
EUMUNGERIE Eumungerie offers a quaint, low key escape for its residents. This village is beloved by nature enthusiasts. With the nearby Coolbaggie Nature Reserve abundant in distinctive species of flora and fauna, the village is resplendent in furry and feathered visitors.

STUART TOWN Formally known as Ironbark and referred to in the famous Banjo Paterson poem “The Man from Ironbark”, the village of Stuart Town was home to many hoping to find their fortune during the days of the New South Wales gold rush. WONGARBON The village of Wongarbon is located only 15km east of Dubbo.
