Directed by John M. Stahl (110 min) Leave Her to Heaven (1945, PG), an unsettling psychological noir thriller and lush technicoloured melodrama from director John M. Stahl, was based on the novel written by best-selling author Ben Ames Williams. Ellen played with cool derangement by Gene Tierney meets and falls in love with Novelist Richard Harland (Cornel Wilde), they quickly marry and all seems destined for happiness, but her but her obsessive love for him threatens to be the undoing of both them and everyone else around them.
