Bright, bold and eyecatching - Dubbo's new gateway signage will be installed early next year.

Dubbo City Council this week approved the redevelopment of Dubbo's gateway signs to welcome visitors with a unique and dynamic statement signifying the entrance to the City.

Each gateway sign incorporates a rhino sculpture, designed by comissioned artists as part of the Taronga Wild! Rhinos project. The City's Indigenous heritage is also acknowledged with the design featuring a Wiradjuri welcome message.

The gateway signs will be installed on four key highway entrances to Dubbo including the Mitchell Highway from Wellington, Golden Highway from Dunedoo and the Newell Highway from both Gilgandra and Parkes.

Installation of the new signage is expected in early 2014.
