Based on convenience, accessibility and the desire for instant gratification, research is pointing to an increased demand by consumers for packaged product. This demand coupled with the opportunity for Dubbo to leverage from strong visitation to Parkes each January for the Elvis Festival, has led to the development of packages to help drive visitation to Dubbo during what is typically a low visitation period.

Dubbo City Council’s Marketing and Communications Services Branch is working on the development of packages providing a choice of a two night or three night stay in the City during the 2014 Elvis Festival. The packages will include breakfast and transfers to Parkes and return each day.

Information and links to purchase the packages will be supported on a designated page on dubbo.com.au. Consumers will be driven to the site via targeted on-line and social media activity.

To help bolster visitation following the Festival, Dubbo packages combining accommodation, attractions and eating out will also be promoted on the site. Opportunities for industry will be provided in the near future.

In the meantime, as part of the development phase, expressions of interest in participating in the packages are sought from Dubbo’s accommodation sector. Expression of interest form.
