Three City Information Boards were unveiled on Thursday 22nd August 2013, at Taronga Western Plains Zoo and the response to date has been extremely encouraging.

With over 200,000 visitors to Taronga Western Plains Zoo each year, the launch of the City Information Boards will greatly assist in local industry further embracing and partnering with the Zoo, as industry, Council and the Zoo continue to work together with the common goal of increasing visitation to our city and the associated economic benefits.

In developing the boards multiple discussions were held internally and externally with a number of key stakeholders and the overwhelming response has been that together we need promote the range of things to do and see in the City, with the objective of encouraging visitors to increase their stay – and ultimately do more while they are here.

The investment that Council is making on the City Information Boards across the City will be extensive, and will provide a great service to both visitors and locals.

The boards are designed to be visually appealing and provide visitor attractions, activities, calendar of events, what to do in the region and where to stay.

The “need a bed?” graphic will make that process easier for the consumer to extend their stay, and the directory is the call to action for all other city services.
