Background

Historic win to host

Dubbo has welcomed the announcement that it will host the 2016 Junior Indoor Cricket National Championships, making it the first regional city to do so in the history of the competition.   The event has never before been hosted in a regional location in Australia and it has only been hosted  in NSW once within the past 7 years.  Dubbo's bid was considered alongside interstate capital cities including Brisbane and Perth.   Some 650 people are expected in Dubbo for nine nights, injecting a conservative estimate of $800,000 into the local economy.  In addition to economic benefits, the event will be promoted across traditional and new media including Cricket Australia's social media channels with a combined reach of 4.3M people.  Key reasons why Cricket Australia chose Dubbo View video
