Sandy Beach Reserve
Sandy Beach is a picturesque location on the Macquarie River enjoyed by many as a popular fishing and swimming spot. It is also a great place to picnic and take in the wildlife. Take the first right off Macquarie Street heading South from LH Ford Bridge, drive through Lady Cutler Park, past the cricket ovals, and down near the river you’ll find Sandy Beach. Amenities include barbecues and toilets.
Just beyond Jinchilla, along Burroway Road, is Terramungamine Reserve. Along the Macquarie River is a rocky outcrop which features about 150 grooves created by Aborigines who once used the hard stone to sharpen their stone axes. Amenities include barbecues, toilets and a camping site.
